Odell Brewing releases St. Lupulin Extra Pale Ale
Fort Collins, Colo. – On May 3, 2010, Odell Brewing will release its summer seasonal St. Lupulin Extra Pale Ale. St. Lupulin, now in its second year, is one of three seasonal offerings including the brewery’s Red ale, and Isolation ale.
Lupulin (loop-you-lin) is the yellow resin in a hop cone that contains extraordinary oils that create flavor and aroma. The name St. Lupulin was inspired by a mystical legend of the archetypal hophead who devoted endless summers tending to endless rows of hops and their flowers.
A dry-hopped extra pale ale, St. Lupulin is light in color, but offers a vibrant hop character. Cascade, Perle, and Centennial hops create a citrusy floral aroma and balance the slightly sweet malt character. At 6.5% ABV, the beer has a crisp and clean finish.
St. Lupulin was named one of the best new beers of 2009 by Modern Brewery Age: “Fresh, bright and lively,” said Gregg Glaser, contributing editor. “Grapefruit in the nose carries into the flavor.”
Odell Brewing will commemorate the encore of St. Lupulin on May 1st during the brewery’s tap room grand re-opening celebration. Guests can enjoy samples of the brew, local food, and live music.
St. Lupulin is available May through September in the brewery’s nine state distributor region. Six-packs will retail for approximately $9.49-$9.99.
