Beer-Sorbet Fruit Cup

Submitted by: marburg

This was inspired by something similar my mom makes with a sweet sparkling white wine like Asti. I took off on it and decided a beer could be even better.

Ingredients:
  • 1 to 2 bottle(s) of a high-carbonation fruit flavored beer (Lindeman's Framboise, Peche, or Kriek; or Melbourn Bros. Strawberry or Apricot) to your taste
  • 1 scoop fruit sherbet/sorbet per person
  • Assorted fruits/berries (starawberries, raspberries, kiwi, blackberries, blueberries perferred)
Direction & Notes:
It's pretty simple. Get a nice glass dish and scoop out a scoop or two of your sherbet. Top that with the berries and fruit. Pour just a tiny bit (2+ tablespoons to your taste) of your fruit beer over the top of it. Then serve.

The sweetnesses and fruit flavors of the beer, fruit, and sorbet blend pretty well. It's virtually zero fat, and it tastes good. Good dessert treat!
